Caring For Your Elleganti Products

Extend the Life of Your Favorite Elleganti Pieces

At Elleganti, we pride ourselves on using the highest quality materials for our shoes and handbags, all carefully sourced and extensively tested. To ensure you get the most enjoyment from your favorite pieces, please follow the care instructions below.

  • Storage

Store your shoes and handbags in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Always use dust bags for storage to protect them from dust and environmental damage.

  • Handling

Avoid excessive abrasion and wearing with contrasting colors to prevent color transfer. If your piece comes into contact with water, dab it with a dry cloth to absorb any excess liquid and let it dry naturally.

  • Crystals

Our crystals are meticulously hot-fixed onto the leather, ensuring secure placement; however, they should be handled with care to prevent damage. Clean with a soft cloth and avoid exposure to harsh chemicals or abrasive surfaces.

  • Material Sensitivity

Leather and other delicate materials, including metal accessories, hardware, and crystals, are sensitive to humidity. Avoid direct contact with water, salt, heat, oil, grease, alcohol, and other abrasive products.

  • Authenticity

Genuine leather may have natural graining and possible color non-uniformity, which are inherent characteristics that signify its authenticity and uniqueness; they are not defects.

Specific Care Instructions

Shoes

  • Store your shoes in dust bags and use protective tissue or shoe trees to maintain their shape.
  • The leather soles wear over time, which is a natural process.

Handbags

  • Avoid overfilling to maintain shape and structure.
  • Use protective packaging inside while in storage, and always store in an upright position.
  • Ensure any straps or chains are placed inside to avoid damage to the material, and keep fastenings properly closed.

Materials

Leathers

  • Leather evolves over time, developing a patina that adds character. Wipe down your leather products after each use to remove dirt and oils.
  • For minor scratches, gently massage the area in circular motions with a clean, dry finger.
  • In case of water contact, use a soft, dry cloth to absorb excess liquid. Avoid using cleaning products with solvents or alcohol.

Patent Leathers

These are particularly absorbent to ink and dark pigments. Always store in dust bags and avoid contact with darker materials to prevent dye transfer.

Metallic & Printed Materials

  • These materials have a surface finish that can wear off with use. Clean gently with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth and dry immediately.
  • Store away from humidity and heat sources.

Suedes

  • Suedes are aniline leathers without a protective finish, making them absorbent and prone to staining.
  • Use a soft rubber suede brush to clean, and avoid vigorous rubbing. Be cautious of color transfer during initial use.
